ITV - Which was the most physically enduring thing during the World Cup?
LD - For me, I played against Tonga on Saturday, so just to play three days later was very physically enduring.

ITV - How did it feel to come on to make your full England debut during the World Cup?
JW - Looking back I think it is probably easier than coming into the five nations game as you get more time to prepare. I have been with the squad for four months so I knew it inside out and how he wanted us to play.

ITV - Question from Mary Slattery - How do you guys rate England's performance in the World Cup?
LD - The New Zealand game was always going to determine our chances in the World Cup, by losing that game our chances were ruined and so overall it was disappointing.

ITV - Which position do you prefer playing in the back row?
LD - I started my career at number 8 and moved to play number 2 after a couple of years and its only in the last few seasons that I have moved back to number 8, but I equally enjoy playing blind side number 6.

ITV - Were you shocked by the France-Kiwi game?
JW - I think everyone who has followed the RWC is surprised by that result as it was totally against the odds. However in fairness, France has not really played any really tough matches leading up to the NZ game so they were full of energy. NZ psychologically probably already felt they were in the final once they beat England.

ITV - What was it like to tackle Jonah Lomu?
LD - He had already scored by the time I got near him!!

ITV - Joe, did you, or do you ever feel like a stint in the Southern Hemisphere?
JW - Yeah, I almost went in when I was 18 to Wellington but I got Glandular Fever and couldn't go. One day I would like to go and play somewhere like Queensland or Western Provence.

ITV - Who have been the star players of the RWC?
LD - I think from the teams who have been knocked out, Josh Kronfeld played up to his usually high standards which is often far better than most other standards. I thought from England, Dan Luger was one of the best backs in the tournament. For Australia Tim Horan and for France, Olivier Magne played very well.

ITV - Where will Wasps finish in the league?
LD - Hopefully as near to the top as possible. We are aiming for a top three finish and a successful European Cup.

ITV - With all the talk of Lomu going to League, have either of you thought of changing codes?
LD - Wasps very nearly bought Wigan two seasons ago but I probably wouldn't have had any choice. But it is a game that I admire and certainly would like to play.
JW - Another thing that I may look at seriously in the future but at this stage I haven't seriously considered it

ITV - With Guscott retiring after ten years at the top of the game, will players have such a long shelf life now the game has become more physical and demanding?
LD - Not only has the game become more demanding but the rewards of success are greater therefore there is even more competition than perhaps there was before. But if you look after yourself and are lucky with injuries then there is no reason why you cannot play for ten years. To play for England for ten years would certainly take some doing.
JW - Very few people will play for 10 years in RWC.

ITV - Do you think body padding and protective gear is getting out of hand?
LD - no, but there has to be one rule for everyone so no one has an advantage over anyone else?

ITV - would you guys like to comment on the standard of refereeing?
JW - It has been quite consistent in reviewing and playing perspective compared to domestic rugby it is of a much higher standard. Although linesmen still give dodgy tries.
LD - I think the refereeing in the RWC has been good however what the tournament has shown is that rugby union definitely needs to introduce further measures to decide whether a try has been scored.

ITV - Who do you think is going to win the RWC?
LD - My heart want France to win but to do so they will have to play even better than they did on Sunday. Defensively Australia are the strongest in the world at the moment.
JW - I think Australia have too much experience to lose at the weekend.

ITV would like to thank Lawrence and Joe for their time.
